It is an exciting pleasure to have CEMETERY, producer and DJ hailing from Tokyo, deliver for MPM Press an intriguing and binary experience by opposing 2 radical approaches to sound and sample manipulation. Machineworld '97' offers an aggressive take at Industrial Techno, with relentless kick distortion and an unintelligible, repetitive, demonic voice stuck somewhere in-between modern Grindcore and Old-school Power Electronics. In a diametrical fashion, Paragate takes us on a short trip among ritualistic voice samples, Gamelan-like distant percussion, soothing synth pads and reverb driven sound design, landing a solar-sounding meditation soundscape that borrows heavily from a Tibetan Buddhism imaginary.
